Question: What is something said to you, either good or bad, that has in someway affected your life?
Answer: There is a long list of “sayings” that have deeply affected my life, mostly by parents, grandparents or by my teachers.
I remember very often what my farther has told me once, when I hoped to win a great fortune by playing “TOTO” – betting on soccer games every week – when I was a teenager. He told me that if I want to make it in life, I have to build my hopes on hard work, great, continuing efforts only.
I have tried to apply this advice ever since, and I teach my children the same. We shouldn’t count on sheer “luck”, favourable circumstances to help us, but we should create our own “luck” by doing 110% effort in any given circumstances in life.
