Rising Above The “Monkey Business”

Question: If there were no animals in our world, what would we be missing?

Answer: The primary answer is that we would not be able to exist, the whole ecosystem would fall apart.

But even more importantly without animals, without the animate level in Nature we would not know what it means to be Human.

I mean at the moment we are all living “like animals”, simply instinctively chasing and fulfilling randomly appearing desires, only thinking about a mundane day to day survival – regardless of that unfolding in a small hut in the desert or in a five star luxury hotel, sitting on a camel or riding in a Rolls Royce.

Only in contrast to this animate, instinctive level of existence can we contrast, aim for a truly Human degree: a “creature” that is capable of existing above instints, above the egoistic self, freely, objectively researching and attaining the whole of reality “as it is”.
