Emotional Beings
We human beings pride ourselves of our intellectual capability. What we don’t understand yet is that our mind, intellect is only a secondary, auxillary tool.
We are primarily sentient creatures since our basic matter is a desire. We conduct our lives through emotional impressions and our intellectual faculties are there only to sort, catalog and analyze the vast range of emotional impressions we receive through our sensory organs.
Then our brain builds the picture of the world from those arranged emotional impressions.
Study By Immersion
We can observe the difference in between using the mind and the “heart” – our emotions – through studying as well. While most of our traditional study focuses on accumulating intellectual knowledge, if that knowledge is not coupled with emotional impressions gained by practical application, the accumulated knowledge remains theoretical, empty.
Theoretical knowledge is linear, only catering for the mind. If it is not “clothed into” the body, applied in practice, that knowledge remains theoretical, like philosophy. Learning though practice, emotional impressions gained by that practice – even if it seemingly “bypasses” our mind – offers a “full body immersion”, a multi-dimensional package that influences every cell of our body.
Then our mind by sorting, analyzing that full package gets a much more full, realistic knowledge than from a solely theoretical study. Thus education based on practice is much more valuable than theoretical study.
Expanding Perception
If this is true in relation to study in our static, physical reality, it is even more true when we start studying in order to finally change ourselves to step onto higher evolutionary degrees.
We are not supposed to “park” here on our present developmental level, blindly chasing and fulfilling the instinctive, animate (food, sex, family) and social (wealth, power, knowledge) desires imprinted in us at birth.
Our Human potential – that awakens with the question of “What is the meaning of our life?” – pulls us towards reaching a qualitatively much higher level of existence. Through this search we are supposed to constantly, exponentially change and grow by the immersive, emotional study, exploring an unbounded reality around us.
This exploration unfolds through self-change, expanding our observer capabilities.
A New Body, New Desire
In this expansive “evolutionary” study everything is different from our present kind of study, growth. The initiating desire, fuel; the “body” putting the theoretical knowledge into practice; and the mind making the calculations are all different.
An individual human being armed with the usual instinctive desires is unsuitable to evolve further from our present “humanoid” – hardly above the animate -degree. Our inherent being is not interested in rising above the usual animate and social needs imprinted in us by birth. We need a new desire to pull us forward, a new mind and a new body that will put the new knowledge into action.
The new desire is built from that spark that awakens in people with the question about the “meaning of life”. But initially it is only a flickering spark that in itself is not strong enough to lift one above the instinctive egocentric pull of the usual animate and social desires.
Moreover the individual persons “body”, pleasure receiving capacity, vessel is only suited for those instinctive desires. And even of those desires we can only consume limited capacities, and after satiation our desires have to switch off, digest for a while until we are ready to consume new pleasures, emotional impressions again. In order to research the whole of reality, receiving infinite amount of information, emotional input we need an unlimited capacity vessel.
The answer for the two above mentioned problem is solved by creating a collective, mutual “being”, a intricately integrated human collective replacing the individual. When a small group, a mutually committed, purposeful circle of people combine their initial sparks pulling them towards the meaning, Human purpose of their lives, they can create a large enough common desire that can “lift them off the ground”. And by mutually interconnecting, combining their needs, desires, thoughts and actions they can create a mutual, common “body”, a large enough receptive vessel that can start collecting unlimited amount of information, emotional impressions for their unique research.
A New, “Split” Mind
The inherent mind is incapable of helping in this research since it is only programmed to make “pleasure/pain” calculations based on our inherent desires, using the by default imprinted data. Here in this evolutionary study we are supposed to constantly progress towards states, experiences, impressions we have no precedence, recollections for.
Thus we have to progress using a “borrowed” mind, guidance for rising above ourselves. Even the desire pulling us towards our life’s meaning, purpose is an “empty, hopeful” desire since we have no knowledge, previous taste of what we want to acquire. Thus we need an aim, a “hint” of what we are working towards to.
Fortunately there have been unique empirical scientists through human history, who through their own unique sensitivity and favorable environmental conditions managed to explore reality in a “Human” way we are all supposed to do. They have described their experiences, cataloged their emotional impressions in an ordered, organized way, creating a practical method for the rest of us, who have to make the same journey from our inherent “zero”, “humanoid” state towards becoming truly Human.
In order to start our own proactive journey into the unknown, into those higher evolutionary states we have no idea about, we can take their “mind” over ours. Accepting this so called “faith in the sages” creates a “split mind” since our own present, tangible reason, logic, how we see ourselves and the world around us doesn’t disappear.
Acting Above Reason
The next stage is like a “game”, starting to play act, behave according to the “borrowed mind” of those sages. The unique group of people start living, relating to each other “from that higher level” as if we already ascended to that more evolved state.
By default we are all proudly individualistic egoists, only capable of acting for our own sake, pleasure, reward. We are all like individual cells of a body, organism that – through a unique amnesia, mutation – forgot that we all belong to the same fully integrated collective, pursuing a personal existence in ruthless, exclusive completion with one another. This mistaken identity is the cause of all our problems since we are incompatible with existence in the “true world”, reality surrounding us, that is completely, intricately interconnected and fully interdependent.
For this reason our next evolutionary stages are pointing towards increasing, intensifying mutual integration, selfless and altruistic cooperation with one another in order for humanity to integrate within natural reality. But since we have to do this against our inherent “operating software” we need the unique method and the help from those original, empirical scientists, sages.
On the other hand this “acting above reason”, proactively evolving against our inherent nature gives humanity the “superiority”, unique place in the natural system. This gives us free choice and through the “split mind”, being always in between the actual and the “supernatural” desired state, we gain contrast and the necessary Human comparative research capability.
Gradual Integration, Gaining Wisdom
In the initial stages the proactive “game” – acting, making devoted efforts based on the advice, method of the sages above “normal” logic and reason – starts collecting emotional impressions, gives tastes from the acted out selfless, mutually complementing cooperation, “brotherly love”, compared to the instinctively self-serving, self-justifying and self-protective inclination. The members of the mutual circle become like “method actors” identifying themselves with their new role.
The contrast in between the new and old tastes, emotional impressions generates a new, tangible desire, need for that next state. Based on the new tastes, “deposits” collected, gained from the play acting, now the committed pioneers in the mutual circle have something to aim at, yearn for. Thus their efforts become more targeted, realistic.
This new, more purposeful yearning, need is their reward from their mutual effort in playing the game. This provides then with new fuel above the constant obstruction, backward pull off their initial nature. And with these more realistic, renewed efforts they can pull themselves up to that higher, more selfless, and altruistic, more mutually integrated level.
And this process of acting “above reason” through the “faith in the sages”, collecting emotional impressions that builds a new, targeted desire that fuels them to pull themselves up to the next degree continues until full integration achieved.
And through that full integration and the emotional impressions collected they gain infinite knowledge of reality.
