Question: What is the most peculiar thing about life?
Answer: At the moment I think the most peculiar thing about life is that we don’t want to know what it is, what its meaning is.
Contrary to other animals we have also received a unique analytic mind from evolution, capable of pondering questions about the origin of life, how the Universe came into existence, whether we have any specific role, purpose in this system.
But apart from philosophical debates, scientific articles, musings, fleeting search until we find a method that gives us psychological soothing, we don’t really want to explore those questions deeper. We don’t see the importance of this “life research” above the other dealings in life although this is the basis of everything.
I find this peculiar.
