Mutual Responsibility

Question: After your twenties, what was something you realized that changed your way of thinking?

Answer: I was 24 when I got married, two years later we had our first child, then we shortly moved to another country and had to provide for my growing family in a stressful profession in a completely new environment…

What I realized on one hand was my absolute responsibility, not only for myself, but for the life of others. On the other hand – through the experience of living in different countries, traveling a lot – I also realized our absolute mutual responsibility towards each other in this intricately interconnected, very much interdependent world.

It is a daunting revelation when we understand that our personal life is not our own, but we constantly link to, serve others while also depend on them at the same time. That’s why it would be very important to provide the right upbringing, education to people to prepare for our interdependent existence for our mutual responsibility.
