Question: Enough with the wrongs and bad things…What is the one thing that is right with our society today?
Answer: Well, the very fact that we are at rock bottom, and nothing good or praiseworthy remained in Human society itself is the good thing.
We are born with an inherently self-serving, self-justifying ego, which ruthlessly rules over us and causes all the problems in the world today. Until this ego is not humiliated, pressed into a corner it can’t escape from, until we do not face the very realistic, inevitable prospect of self-destruction without any obvious escape path left, our ego will not yield and accept the need for correction, self-change.
Today we are almost there, extremely close to this desperately helpless “gate of tears” when we have no other option but to accept the need for a new type of education, upbringing, that can give us a new, second nature through which we will be able to build positive, altruistic, mutually responsible and mutually complementing connections, cooperation and survive.
The good thing is that we have an analytic mind capable of critical self-assessment, initiating self-change in the right conditions. And we can create those conditions even before intolerable suffering forces us.
