Answer: I apologize in advance as I won’t give you the grammatically right answer – you have already received it from Dorothy – instead I would like to “play with the words” to point out something different.
Our Human purpose is to create a single, fully integrated, mutually responsible, mutually supportive and mutually complementing global Human society, where individual people act, behave as individual cells of the same living organism, while gaining a qualitatively much higher, systemic, truly Human, collective consciousness, collective intelligence, like our own present consciousness over a body that consists of trillions of cells and microbes.
In that respect the correct expression would be “figuring out ourself” as our purpose in life is to figure out this single “Human self” which we all build, contribute to, so it becomes the “self” that belongs to all.
