Question: Sigmund Freud said, “Whoever loves becomes humble. Those who love have so to speak pawned a part of their narcissism”. What does that mean with human words?
Answer: Freud is basically saying that we are all born narcissistic, self-loving and as a result we inherently “hate” others – hate meaning being opposite to them, being unable to agree with them due to difference of qualities, opinions. Kabbalists – unique empirical scientists who attained both Human nature and the laws, principles and evolutionary plan of Nature deeper, more complete than anybody else – agree with this.
Freud also says that by coming to love others we can annul, erase part of our inherent self-love. Kabbalist do not agree with this completely as they say that it is impossible to suppress, erase or replace our inherent self-love, since this is all we have.
Instead we have to acquire, draw on ourselves an “upgrade” – through Nature’s evolutionary force – which is a second, unconditionally loving, serving nature. Then through this new “clothing”, covering the inherent “human” hate with acquired “natural” love, we become capable of loving others above, despite the instinctive distrust, rejection.
The truly Human being, the independent observer will stand in between the hate and love.
