Question: Should multi-culturalism be encouraged to a more peaceful world?
Answer: I am not sure what “multi-culturalism” means as today all of these notions are misunderstood, misinterpreted.
The fact of our inherently self-centered, self-justifying, proudly individualistic nature is that our individual or national identity cannot be suppressed or erased. Our diversity, vast differences will always remain.
If we want to build global unity, mutual responsibility and mutually complementing cooperation – without which peace, problem solving or even survival is impossible in a global, integral world – we have to learn how to do that above the differences and despite the instinctive distrust and mutual rejection.
