Question: What have you learned from a book that would take a lifetime to learn from experience?
Answer: I apologize for not agreeing with you, but I would suggest the opposite: I learned much more from practical experience in five minutes, than I could have learned from reading books about it for years.
For example in my medical profession my 6 years of intense study paled in comparison to the experience of the first actual operation I have done by myself.
I don’t think any theoretical study can replace actual, practical experience. We’re not “intellectual” but “emotional” creatures, we learn by emotional impressions. And those impressions are much, much stronger when we go through practical actions, experiences.
