Question: Have you ever made your own slide rule? How did you do it?
Answer: I didn’t make an actual slide rule myself, I inherited a beautiful old one from my grandfather made of ivory (before using ivory was banned).
On the other hand I acquired another, more symbolic “side-rule” that helps me measure myself in any given circumstances, helping me to see where I stand.
This is a “brutally honest mirror”, my purposeful, mutually supportive, mutually complementing environment that doesn’t allow me to hide, fool myself.
