No Deal

Question: Would you rather live a long life of playing it safe or live a short life of happiness and doing whatever you want?

Answer: While it is a nice philosophical question, it is not realistic. We underestimate our nature, the engine that drives us.

Our insatiable egoistic being, a “black hole-like” desire for pleasures would never be able to settle the deal you are suggesting.

If we chose a “short life” full of pleasures, we would never agree to terminate such a pleasurable life, but would want to find a way of prolonging it infinitely. And we could never live a long life, “playing it safe” without great pleasures, especially if we knew they were available (it is of course different when there are no pleasures but we need to fight for daily survival), such a pleasure-less life is unbearable for our nature.

Thus in the ”true reality” our nature is thriving to find an infinite life full of infinite pleasures. And although we haven’t found the formula for that yet, it is available. We just need to find the right environment with the right, practical method.
