Question: What was the last situation in which you were amazed by yourself? Is there really, then, something in us that is unknown to us?
Answer: It is a bit of a paradox. I am amazed by “myself” when my “self” actually disappears, allowing me the opportunity to be amazed by others.
When I manage to annul myself towards others in a special, purposeful, closed environment, then I can finally appreciate their greatness, uniqueness, I can finally have a glimpse at reality objectively through their desires and viewpoints.
Thus there is indeed something still unknown to us, this “supernatural” – above our instinctively selfish, egocentric and subjective nature – ability to establish a transparent, objective, selfless observer viewpoint that can independently research and attain reality “as it is”.
