Question: Are knowledge and understanding the same?
Answer: Knowledge is simply stuffing data into our memory.
Understanding is when we already know how to use, what to do with that data in a practical manner.
But then there is an even higher level: attainment. It means that we don’t only use the data, but we live with it, “swim” in it, it becomes us, like circulation in a body flowing through cells, organs.
In attainment there is no “me” and some data, knowledge I understand and use. “Me” and the system the data representing become one and the same.
Then I attain Wisdom…
Students need the effective system of knowledge transfer. But understanding is processed in the learning circuits of student’s brain. Thanks for the question
