Planting Ourselves Into Fertile Soil

Question: What is the most thought-provoking quote from an ancient philosopher you’ve ever heard and why?

Answer:

“People are like dirt. They can either nourish you and help you grow as a person or they can stunt your growth and make you wilt and die.”

Plato

We are the product of the environment, it is solely the environment, the soil we plant ourselves into that defines what becomes of us:

  • a “true Human” being that manages to constantly improve, upgrade oneself and exist above the inherently selfish, egotistic, subjective instincts,
  • or we remain “humanoids” blindly following our inherent animate instincts, caring only about a random, day to day, physical survival in between involuntary birth and involuntary death.
