Question: Why do we learn from questions more than anything?
Answer: In order to learn, to receive knowledge, wisdom we have to have a need, a true lack for that knowledge, wisdom.
The question signifies that need, lack which then can be filled with the received knowledge and wisdom which we will use in practice to fill that lack, need. Without a true, burning need, question we cannot learn anything.
In order to fill something we need a vessel that can contain that fulfillment. A question is the sign of the vessel that needs filling.
Moreover by listening to the questions of others – since we influence each other consciously, unconsciously – we also receive a need, desire to learn. A question of another can open a need in us that will also require the fulfillment of knowledge, wisdom.
